This guide will show you how to import contacts into Matrix.
Note: The Contact Importer requires CSV files that are formatted in the same manner as those created by the Matrix Contact Export. The field names must be specified on the first line of the file. Not all fields need to be included – only name_first, name_last and email1 are mandatory.
Step 1: To begin, you will need to create an export of your contacts from your client data base system. Export must contain First Name, Last Name and email address and saved in a .csv file format.
Step 2: To import your contacts, go to the My Matrix tab and select Contacts.
Step 3: Click the drop-down arrow next the the Add button, and select Import.
Step 4: Click Choose File to find the file you saved in Step 1, and then select Import.
An Important message will display advising against importing purchased marketing lists.
Update existing contacts with imported information Check Box: If this is checked Matrix will attempt to match each imported contact with an existing one, updating contact values when a match is found.
Step 5: The screen will refresh with your Contact Import Results. Click Done to return to the Contacts Page.
